Least Favorite WOD/Exercise: OH Squats
Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, sports, interests, etc.).
Well to start off I’m an only child and I always wished I had at least one other sibling! I’m fluent in Spanish and my parents are both from Colombia. I love to travel and exploring new places, even if it’s just somewhere close to home. Always had an interest in fashion, but majored in public health! I just graduated so it’s a pretty exciting time in my life right now. Love dogs, dancing, and a good movie!
What was your fitness routine before CrossFit?
My workouts usually consisted of running and some light weights
Why did you start doing CrossFit?
I was looking for something that would be more challenging than my local gym and quite frankly I hate working out alone!
What were your thoughts after your first CrossFit workout?
I’m still alive so that couldn't have been that bad… whilst dripping in sweat lol
What were your goals when joining CrossFit Stealth?
Overall I just wanted to be stronger and gain muscle. Once I learned more about the movements, I wanted to be able to do strict pull-ups, handstand pushups, and actually put weight on the barbell!
Have you achieved any of those goals?
Yes! Still working on that unassisted pull-up though
Has CrossFit affected your life outside the box? How so?
Absolutely! Joining CrossFit has been the best decision I made in 2016. It has challenged me not only physically but also mentally. It’s become the highlight of my day! Even if I’m having a sucky day, I always feel great post-wod! J
How would you describe your experience at CrossFit Stealth?
At first I was very intimidated but everyone is really friendly and willing to help out. The coaches believe in you even when you don’t believe in yourself.
How has CrossFit differed from any other training you’ve done in the past?
For starters it’s more intense than anything else I’ve ever tried! In only one hour I’ve done more than I ever did at my local gym. It’s also great because I have FUN and I don’t dread working out like I did in the past.
What advice would you give to a newbie just joining CrossFit Stealth?
There will be good days and there will be bad days. Just remember that on those bad days, you will feel more motivated than ever to kill your next WOD! Push through and stay consistent because the results are truly addicting!
