Athlete of the Month - Aravindan Jayaraman

NAME: Aravindan Jayaraman AGE: 40 MEMBER SINCE: November 2017 WODS PER WEEK: 3 Favorite WOD/Exercise: Helen / Box jumps, Deadlifts, and Back squats Least Favorite WOD/Exercises: Overhead squats, Handstand push-ups (working on the technique and upper body strength, will get there in next few months) Tell us a little bit about yourself (where are you from, job, family, etc.). I moved to New Jersey from London 5 years back. Currently working for Oracle in NJ as a Product support director. Married and have two kids. My Interests are Sports, Music, reading, and movies. When you are not at CrossFit Stealth, what do you like to do for fun? I spend most of my free time with my family; I enjoy going for long runs and playing tennis or cricket with my kids. How did you hear about CrossFit? Why did you want to try it? After trying my hands on kickboxing, to stay fit and active, I started looking out for high intense workout and ended up getting addicted to CrossFit. What were your thoughts after your first workout at CrossFit Stealth? Drenched in sweat, the first thing that came to my mind was WOW! This is what I was looking for. What are your fitness goals? Have you achieved any of them while at CrossFit Stealth? I wanted to increase my overall strength and stamina. Without a doubt! I am setting up goals and working hard to achieve them, working on improving my techniques and weaknesses, and improving my overall fitness. What is your favorite cheat meal? Frozen Yogurt, Indian Sweets, and Oatmeal cookies What is your favorite thing about CrossFit Stealth? CrossFit Stealth is a family. I’m always surrounded by people who share the same attitude, fitness, and health goals. People are always willing to help and encourage me and bring up your spirit on days you lack motivation. Joining CrossFit Stealth has been one of the best things I have chosen to do What is your most memorable or funniest moment at CrossFit Stealth? CrossFit open weeks – Music and WOD, I did not compete in CrossFit open but tried out all WOD first thing on Friday morning. How would you describe your experience at CrossFit Stealth? Amazing facility, coaches, and phenomenal community. The coaches are extremely patient, helpful and friendly - always welcoming you and encouraging others to get to know you. Each day they made me to work on a different aspect that made my technique even better. I have never felt stronger, both physically and mentally. Would you recommend CrossFit Stealth to your friends and family? What advice would you give them starting out? Of course, yes! Give it sometime, don’t rush. Start slow with increasing the weight, relish the movements that you are already comfortable with and don't get frustrated with the ones you're not, you will master it someday. Something you might not know about me is? Buying and making Gifts is one of my absolute favorite things to do. Nothing makes me happier than finding and giving perfect gift for family and friends.
