Tell us a little bit about yourself (where are you from, job, family, etc.). I lived in NY until I was 19, then settled in the South Plainfield area ever since. I have 2 daughters, 29 and 26 year old. I have been at my current job for 15 years and spend way too much time there each week! I have 2 dogs that require me to walk them a mile every day, rain or shine.
When you’re not at CrossFit Stealth, what do you like to do for fun? I like hanging out with my family and also open to any activity that is not in front of the TV.
How did you hear about CrossFit? Why did you want to try it? My daughter Miranda was going to CFS and bugged me for at least a year to come try crossfit. It was around the time of becoming an empty nester and she knew that I needed something to do. I agreed to go to the trial classes to get her to leave me alone and I ended up signing up for the 1 year commitment unlimited plan.
What were your thoughts after your first workout at CrossFit Stealth? I thought no way can I do this. I almost died after 10 sit ups and a few walking lunges. It was a reality check that I was not in shape.
How has CrossFit impacted other areas of your life outside of the gym? CrossFit has given me confidence in myself, who I am and what I can do. It has given me functional strength to do real life tasks.
What is your favorite cheat meal? Pizza all the way
What is your favorite thing about CrossFit Stealth? Friends, past and present. I half joke that I come for the friends and fitness is just an added bonus! I love the programming and the variations of the WODS.
What is your most memorable or funniest moment at CrossFit Stealth? My best times at CFS have been with the South Plainfield 6 o'clock class and the SP coaches (who I miss). It was the best part of my day.
How would you describe your experience at CrossFit Stealth? It has been a very positive experience. I have become more fit and more outgoing. I am thankful for the friends and the community.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering starting CrossFit? CrossFit is a personal journey and you don't need to compare yourself with other people. Compete with yourself to become better than you were.
Something you might not know about me is? I like to bake (and indulge in eating it too!)
