5 Tips for a Successful Comeback to CrossFit! - Coach Jenny

Whether it's been a few months or several years since your last workout, making the decision to start working out again is a great step towards improving your health and fitness. It may seem overwhelming at first, but with these tips, you can transition back into your workout routine with confidence.

1 - Start with what works for you.

The key to success is consistency. Start with a schedule that works for you, even if it's just 2 days a week. Set a schedule and stick to it. It's better to start small and work your way up than to start too hard and burn out quickly.

2 - Take it slow.

Forget about your previous bests and personal records. Focus on getting back into the swing of things first. Use lighter weights, modify the movements, and take breaks when you need to. Gradually work your way up to where you want to be.

3 - Don't overdo it.

It's important not to push yourself too hard too soon. Overdoing it can lead to injuries, burnout, and frustration. Listen to your body and adjust your workouts accordingly. Ask your coach for help if you're not sure how to modify a workout.

4 - Don't skimp on nutrition.

Nutrition is the foundation of CrossFit. It's important to fuel your body with high-quality, unprocessed foods to help you perform at your best. Consider joining a nutrition challenge to help you stay on track.

5 - Find a support system.

Surround yourself with a community of like-minded people who can motivate and support you. At CrossFit Stealth, we pride ourselves on our strong community. Don't be afraid to ask for help or advice from coaches and fellow athletes. Having a friend to workout with can also help keep you accountable.

Remember, the most important thing is to start. Don't let fear or doubt hold you back. With patience, persistence, and consistency, you will start to see results and feel better in no time. Welcome back to the gym, we can't wait to see you!
